Settings


The Settings page is your control center for managing your PlayerPing account, notification preferences, and credit balance. This guide covers all available settings.


Accessing Settings


Navigate to Settings from the main menu or bottom navigation (on mobile).


Settings Overview


The Settings page includes two main sections:

  • Credits - View balance and purchase credits
  • Notification Settings - Configure SMS, Email, and WhatsApp preferences

Credits Section


Viewing Balance


Your current credit balance is displayed prominently:

  • Large Number - Shows current credit count
  • "Credits" label
  • Updates automatically after purchases

Understanding Credits


  • Email notifications - Free (no credits)
  • SMS notifications - 1 credit per player
  • WhatsApp notifications - 1 credit per player (coming soon)

New accounts start with 50 credits.


Purchasing Credits


  • Select Package
  • Three packages available:
  • 671 Credits - $5.00
  • 1,383 Credits - $10.00
  • 2,097 Credits - $15.00
  • Click on desired package

  • Complete Payment
  • Redirected to Stripe Checkout
  • Enter payment information
  • Complete transaction

  • Credits Added
  • Credits added automatically
  • Success message displayed
  • Balance updates immediately

Notification Settings


SMS Notifications


Toggle Switch:

  • ON (blue) - SMS notifications enabled
  • OFF (gray) - SMS notifications disabled

When Enabled:

  • SMS sent when pinging players
  • Costs 1 credit per player
  • Sent immediately with event details

When Disabled:

  • No SMS notifications sent
  • Saves credits
  • Email still sent (if enabled)

Best For:

  • Urgent invitations
  • Players who prefer text messages
  • Important events

Email Notifications


Toggle Switch:

  • ON (blue) - Email notifications enabled
  • OFF (gray) - Email notifications disabled

When Enabled:

  • Email sent when pinging players
  • Free (no credits required)
  • Includes detailed event information

When Disabled:

  • No email notifications sent
  • Only SMS/WhatsApp sent (if enabled)

Best For:

  • Standard invitations
  • Detailed event information
  • Cost-effective communication

WhatsApp Notifications


Status: Coming Soon


Toggle Switch:

  • Currently disabled (grayed out)
  • Will be enabled when feature launches

When Available:

  • WhatsApp messages sent when pinging players
  • Costs 1 credit per player
  • Rich messaging support

Best For:

  • International players
  • Popular messaging platform
  • Enhanced communication

Saving Settings


Automatic Saving


  • Notification toggles save immediately when changed
  • No "Save" button needed for toggles
  • Changes take effect right away

Manual Save


  • Click "Save Settings" button to ensure all changes are saved
  • Button appears below notification settings
  • Shows "Saving..." while processing

Confirmation


  • Success message appears after saving
  • Settings are stored permanently
  • Changes apply to future invitations


Cost-Effective Setup


  • Email - Enabled (free)
  • SMS - Disabled (saves credits)
  • WhatsApp - Disabled (not available yet)

Best for: Users who want to minimize costs


Maximum Reach Setup


  • Email - Enabled (free)
  • SMS - Enabled (for urgent events)
  • WhatsApp - Enabled (when available)

Best for: Users who want maximum notification delivery


Balanced Setup


  • Email - Enabled (primary method)
  • ⚠️ SMS - Enabled selectively (for important events)
  • WhatsApp - Disabled (until needed)

Best for: Most users, balances cost and reach


Managing Your Account


Profile Information


Account profile information is managed during registration:

  • Email address (used for login)
  • Password (change through login system)

Account Security


  • Use strong passwords
  • Keep login credentials secure
  • Log out when using shared devices

Notification Preferences


  • Start with Email - Enable email as primary method
  • Add SMS Selectively - Enable SMS for important events
  • Monitor Credits - Keep track of credit balance
  • Adjust as Needed - Change settings based on usage

Credit Management


  • Check Balance Regularly - Monitor credit usage
  • Purchase Before Needed - Buy credits in advance
  • Use Free Options - Rely on email when possible
  • Track Spending - Understand credit consumption

  • Email First - Use free email notifications primarily
  • SMS for Urgent - Reserve SMS for important events

Troubleshooting


Settings Not Saving


  • Ensure you clicked "Save Settings"
  • Check internet connection
  • Refresh the page
  • Try again

Credits Not Updating


  • Refresh the Settings page
  • Verify payment was successful
  • Check Stripe transaction status
  • Contact support if needed

Notifications Not Working


  • Verify settings are enabled
  • Check credit balance (for SMS/WhatsApp)
  • Confirm player contact information
  • Review notification preferences

Can't Purchase Credits


  • Check internet connection
  • Verify payment method
  • Ensure Stripe loads properly
  • Try different browser

Toggle Not Responding


  • Refresh the page
  • Check browser compatibility
  • Try clicking again
  • Clear browser cache

Status Messages


Success Messages


  • Green Background - Settings saved successfully
  • Green Background - Payment successful, credits added

Error Messages


  • Red Background - Failed to save settings
  • Red Background - Payment failed or error occurred

Information Messages


  • Yellow Background - Payment canceled (no charges)
